A plant’s root fails, it’s functions it can’t do.
The stem grew tall and strong, but that was before,
before it met you.
The leaves have shrivelled up,
The flowers are all out of bloom.
The live green leaves crumple to the ground,
Treaded into the mud, into the black doom.
Now all yellow, covered in bruises,
It’s red leaves covered in black.
If it were alive, it wouldn’t die.
