Thank God for Gold

I breathe and it pumps,
Pushing regret out of my lungs.
Thank goodness for pride,
My sheet of gold armour.

I lift my phone and click your name,
“How’s it going?”
I’m sure I could casually say.
Reignite what was there,
Before I stole the innocence away.
Thank God for gold.

Thank God.
